Our passion for exploring the outdoors is the driving force behind our packable kayak. At just seven pounds, Pontos kayaks are far lighter than existing rigid, folding, and inflatable kayaks, which weigh anywhere from 20-45 pounds. With a pack down size similar to a small tent, Pontos is the first truly packable kayak.
We believe that eliminating the traditional barriers to outdoor recreation is important. The physical and mental benefits that come with getting out and connecting with nature should be available to everyone! For paddle sports, those barriers look like having to have space to store your vessel, needing a roof rack, pickup, or trailer to transport it, and being able to carry often quite a bit of weight to and from the water. We’re big fans of the work already being done by inflatables and other collapsibles to tear down those barriers, and we’re excited to offer the lightest, most portable kayak yet. We’ve done this by combining the idea of a skin on frame boat with new durable lightweight materials.
